Cats
10 shop cats who clearly run the store
Just more proof that cats are the ones who are really in control.

If you’re a cat owner, we’re sure that you have often questioned who’s the real boss of the house, especially as far as your cat is concerned. Yes, us pet owners may be in charge of the feeding, cleaning of the litter tray, and being chief toy-buyer of the house, but plenty of research has actually found that cats are able to manipulate us into giving them what they want, through purring, being extra cuddly, and using a special type of meow. That’s right, they’re actually aware of how much we love them, and they use our affection as a ticket to get whatever they want. Sneaky, huh?

So when we came across some photos of cats chilling in stores as if they themselves were the managers, we weren’t surprised in the slightest.

It’s very typical of cats to rule the roost of wherever they walk into, and the fact that they know that they’re cute means that us humans are played like a game of Snakes and Ladders. Take a look for yourself at these 10 photos of shop cats who clearly run the place, and try your best to not instantly fall in love with them all!

1. Does what it says on the box if you misbehave

This cat’s favorite sitting spot gives enough of a warning to workers and customers alike. The cat may be cute, but if you step out of line, he’ll be hot on your tail.

2. We accept meowster card here

Cats love to sit on important things (laptops being a cat’s number one favorite spot), so of course this kitty is sat right on top of the card machine. Of course.

This cat is fancy (but not too fancy) and he knows it. We all know that cats are drawn to cardboard boxes like a moth to the flame, and this little guy looks beyond cozy.

4. After a long shift

Let’s face it, we’ve all been mid-way through a particularly hectic shift and wanted to do the exact same thing as this little guy. Good on him!

5. “Oh you wanted to use the scales…?”

This little guy is showing yet another great example of how cats love to lounge in the most inconvenient spots. Is he comfortable? Probably not. But that’s not the point.

6. “Welcome to our store”

Despite moving in only last month, this hard worker wants to prove who really runs the store – and what better way to do that by standing pointlessly at the door to welcome people in like a store manager would do?

7. If I fits, I sits

We can’t even see Sophie’s face, but the attitude in this picture is off the scale. Our favorite part is the line, “I don’t need a bigger box.” Cats love to be as uncomfortable as possible.

8. Keeping the eggs warm

This helpful kitty must have once lived on a farm – since she seems to know exactly what to do to keep the eggs safe and warm. Someone give this cutie a promotion!

9. When a customer makes a spillage in aisle 3

“I’ll clean that stain, but I’m not happy about it.”

10. A special kind of Mexican snack

To be honest, we’re totally the type of person to go into the store for a snack and leave with a cat.
