This cat is clearly wondering why there’s a human in the place where he’s planning to hang out.

It turns out that while the homeowner thought the cat was a stray, he simply lived down the street and was looking for some bonus real estate.

He ended up moving in in the end.

We’re not sure how we would react if we came home to find a random cat sitting in our bra.

It turns out Buddy has owners, but he enjoys wandering into multiple apartments in his spare time.

No word on whether or not he’s strictly a lingerie cat or if he’ll sit on couches too.

At least this street cat is doing a thorough check of the premises before it gets cozy.

But we have no doubt it proceeded to get cozy despite there being a photographer on the other side.

This cat took up residence in the garage of a house with 6 other cats.

So now he’s the 7th and gets spoiled out in the place where he prefers to chill.

“My house. My cat scratcher. Totally not my cat,” said one Facebook user.

We might be amused by a new cat making itself at home, but we don’t know how the resident cat felt when it got a whiff of a stranger on its scratching pad.

The tuxedo cats belong there, but the random cat in the sink is just some interloper.

Luckily, he just lived downstairs and got back to his mom. It seems he climbed the deck and came in through the window.

Maybe the downstairs sink already had too much cat hair.

The invader is on the windowsill and clearly interpreting that open window as an invitation.

Ted belongs to the neighbors, but apparently he has deemed another apartment his official “shower.”

It’s nice of him to stop by just to splay out on the couch and lick himself.

Cats are so polite like that.

Well, we sure as heck don’t know how this happened but that has to be pretty startling.

The cat doesn’t look too crazy about the situation either.

The cat on the left (Butch) lives there, but the cat on the right (Toby) does not.

But Toby lives next door and the two friends like to lounge around together every now and then.

What would you do if you saw a cat at your door?

Our first question is: who leaves their door open like that? You’re basically asking for cats.

Apparently, Max lives next door but really prefers the blankets at his neighbor’s house.

So he just waltzes right in whenever possible.

The funny thing is that the neighbor inherited the couch from Max’s mom – so many he just feels like he can visit his old furniture whenever he wants.

The person who posted this photo said “This kitty joined us this evening and tucked herself up for a good nap. She is still snoozing away and all attempts to let her out are futile.”

That’s pretty generous since it’s unclear where that cat has been!

At least her collar indicates that she belongs to someone part-time.

Nico lives mostly outside and has expanded his territory to include his neighbor’s porch.

And free decor is always nice. Unless, like Nico, it likes to taunt the indoor cats that live there.

This person was looking to adopt a cat but one found her first.

Her neighbor’s cat decided to meow at her door until it was let in and sleep on all the chairs.

Hey, at least you don’t have to feed it or clean a little box. It’s a timeshare cat with all the benefits!

When you live on the first floor and put anything on your balcony that can be interpreted as a bed by a cat, then you’re likely going to get a cat.

This person also started giving their visitor turkey slices – so now she’ll never leave!

The homeowners named this ginger cat Cinnamon lite, since it’s the skinnier, outdoor version of their own cat, Cinnamon.

But C-lite has no interest in coming inside, only being fed and given furniture to enjoy on the catio.

Apparently this guy just walked right into this woman’s home and plopped down for a nap.

She had never even seen him outside before.

Did you know you could get adopted by a cat against your will?

The only problem is this homeowner was whistling for her own cat. But instead, she got this guy.

He ran right into the house and started eating.

After trying to track down his owner to no avail, the house has a new cat.

We’d like to think we would know if a non-resident cat was living in our house, but apparently these things happen!

A neighbor’s cat decided to switch families one day. The owners weren’t pleased but had no choice but to give up when the cat would lick and paw at the windows of its “new home.”

And the owners just let him do it…so long as their own cat isn’t around.

Upon returning from the grocery store, a couple walked in their home and the next door neighbor’s cat decided to sneak in with them.

Normally Sir Titus doesn’t really like the man in the house, but right now he’s cleaning up some chicken, so he’s ok.

It looks like someone got a bonus cat when a feline from a house nearby got over its fear and decided it would be happy to sit on the patio furniture and sunbathe.

It just insists on social distancing, which is of course the responsible thing to do.

This cat will walk into a stranger’s yard and then “yell” at her until it gets a pet.

But it eventually went one step further when it decided it should be allowed inside.

As you can see, it’s a nice place for a cat – and that’s because some already live there. And they were NOT amused.

Just your average invading cat making itself at home on the couch.

Once lockdown started after the pandemic, it decided it didn’t want to wait for the humans to come out and give it attention anymore.

How hilarious is this interloper sitting outside the window juxtaposed with two photos of the owners’ dogs on each side?

Something tells us it’s not a cat-friendly house, though they’ll be forced to make that declaration clearer.

Smokey is the neighbor’s cat.

He would simply stop by sometimes and sleep wherever looked most comfortable to him that day.

Smokey was banned from visiting during the lockdown, but he never really got the memo.

For months, this Norwegian Forest Cat decided to claim some new humans as servants.

It lives in the neighborhood but has decided to spend most of its time in its new chosen residence.

So much for making a thoughtful and educated decision about adopting an animal!

In what might be our favorite caption of all time, this homeowner said:

“I went to my kitchen to get my washing out of the machine and feed my cats, but walked into five cats in my kitchen. I only have three!”

After some investigation, the person whose table this is found out the cat’s name is Coco Bean.

She looks like she’s trying to fit into a still life painting.

When repair people came to one person’s apartment they accidentally let in a cat.

And that cat decided to hop right on the bed and then had the nerve to look at the homeowner like they were interrupting its nap.

Can you guess which cat doesn’t actually live there?

The one in the box, obviously.

And you can tell by the reaction of the resident cat, which looks like it’s about to get its claws out.

Imagine this person’s surprise to find a cat sitting on the chair along with their dog.

We can definitely see the dog’s surprise since he’s never seen that cat before in his life.

We’re not sure if the look on the cat’s face is one of great regret for wandering into the wrong house or just a bad attempt at trying to act like nothing weird is going on.

We found the missing piece of the game!

It turns out this cat was wandering by and realized there was something really satisfying to destroy.

You’re not going to find that kind of quality entertainment outside.

Artie is the neighbor’s cat but enjoys sleeping on the furniture in another home.

We’re not sure how it all panned out, but it looks like he’s not willing to ask a third time.

There’s an obvious way to get rid of a cat that’s in your shower, but it turns out she was very welcome to stay.

Ms. KitKat lives in the neighborhood, but wanders into this home and acts as decor whenever the door is open.

Geez, it really seems like a lot of people leave their doors open!

This human won’t feed her, so the house is only good for naps and belly rubs before she wanders off to find a meal.

This cat looks like it’s come to the patio to have a serious talk with the owner.

Perhaps it’s about the lack of cushions on the chairs. Either way, it appears to be a very important moment.

This lovely lass clearly belongs to someone but decided to wander into a stranger’s home for some off-the-grid exploration and a nice nap.

The homeowner said they really hoped she would come back at some point!

Well, you have no hope against two cats on the same side.

These two cats actually showed up separately and became friends.

They came by so often that the homeowners put a cat tree out on their back porch for them to play on!

Neither ever wanted to come into the house, but they were obviously content to give a friendly smile through the window.

It’s nice to sit on your own porch while a cat snobbily inspects your house.

And it’s even better when they come out with their nose in the air like they’ve decided the accommodations just aren’t quite what they’re looking for.

This visitor stops by every day for a meal.

And we’re sure that’s not the only house it visits.

We wonder if it also demands dinner when it gets back to its real home. (But of course it does!)

Don’t give anything – humans included – a piece of bacon unless you want to be followed home.

And who is carrying around bacon anyway?

Ted likes to come by his neighbor’s house for a casual after-work drink every now and again.

And it doesn’t look like anyone is discouraging him.

The best part about this photo is that NEITHER cat belongs to the homeowners!

We don’t know how they ended up on opposite sides of the door but there was clearly only one winner here and it’s taunting the cat that didn’t make it inside.

Ralph enjoys visiting his neighbor for a leisurely stroll.

His own family doesn’t have a stroller, so he’s forced to walk on his own 4 feet any time he wants to go somewhere.

We can see how that would be a real pain when the guy next door will just push you around instead.

Ok, now THAT would startle us.

Imagine walking into your child’s room and finding a cat in the bassinet.

We assume the baby is with the parents.

Once again, some trusting soul left their front door open.

And the result was the expected spare cat.

We’d be charmed at first to see this, but then immediately want to wash our pillows not knowing where that fur had been.

This male cat is an outdoor cat to his owner and isn’t allowed inside.

But he’s decided he wants to spend at least some time indoors – which means he had to find another part-time human.

That human named him Carl and says: “He will pop back to his house late afternoon, bring back a fresh chicken wing and put it in his bowl and eat it here. Absolute legend.”
