The monkey in this video tours with his circus. At one stop, he made friends with a human called Miro. One year later, when the circus arrived back in Miro’s town, the human wasn’t sure if the monkey would remember him.

It’s always heartwarming when dogs are overjoyed to be reunited with people they haven’t seen for a while. But it’s not just dogs that act like this. And this circus monkey is proof.

It all started when Miro volunteered at the facility that the circus was staying in.

Miro was in charge of taking care of the performing monkeys.

He did this task well, and one of the monkeys, in particular, became firm friends with Miro. Soon, Miro was giving this monkey extra treats.

Then the circus had to move on to the next destination. Miro and his monkey friend had to say goodbye. Miro hoped to see him again when the circus arrived next year.

12 months later, when the circus did roll back in to town, Miro volunteered to help out again. The main reason for this was because he wanted to meet his monkey friend!

Soon, Miro was able to meet up with the monkey. He was anxious to see if the monkey would remember him.

Miro walked up to the monkey’s pen. As soon as the monkey spotted Miro, he became excited. The monkey darted towards Miro. But the monkey was on a leash, and he’d have to wait until Miro was closer.

Soon, Miro was by the monkey’s side. The monkey leaped onto the pen’s railing and gave Miro’s arm a big hug. He started crying out with joy.

So Miro knelt down and lifted the monkey in his hands. He gave the monkey a cuddle.

The monkey looked up at Miro with love in his eyes. Clearly, the monkey wanted the cuddle to last forever.

Miro started petting the monkey’s head. Then the monkey wrapped his tail around Miro’s arm, as if to tell him to keep on petting.

One of Miro’s friends asked how old the monkey was. The monkey’s owners explained that he was 14.

Eventually, Miro set the monkey down on the ground. But the monkey looked shocked.

He wasn’t ready for the cuddle session to end!

So the monkey leaped back on to the railing to give Miro some more hugs.

Miro was more than happy to play along. He started petting the monkey’s head again.

Then the monkey started kissing Miro’s hand. Nobody thought that the moment could get cuter, but it had!

Then Miro set the monkey down once more.

Over the next few days, Miro and the monkey spent lots of time together. Miro was sure to spoil him with lots of treats, just like last time!

Luckily, someone was filming Miro and the monkey’s reunion. The footage then appeared on YouTube, where it soon went viral. To date, the video has gained over 3.2 million views. It also has more than 58,000 likes.

Some people may think that the monkey in this video is suffering/pleading for rescue. However, the uploader of this video stated that the monkey’s owner takes very good care of him.

And the monkey does appear to be healthy.

Hopefully, Miro and the monkey will meet again many times after this!
