Make sure that the next time you take your kids to the playground you check out for bears! No, for real, bears apparently love playing JUST as human children do!

One recent video shows what bears do when they don’t think humans are watching and it’s totally cute.

In Asheville, North Carolina, you never know what kind of animals are around you in the forest. Well, you don’t usually know. One video shows us exactly what the forest animals like to do when they have some free time.

The video from Asheville was captured when a teacher from a local elementary school saw some bears hanging out around the playground at the school she taught at.

Looking outside, Betsie Stockslager saw that the bears weren’t just passing through the area, they were playing on the equipment! Getting out her phone, she was able to capture the incredible moment on camera.

What made the moment even more incredible was how the mama bear was teaching her cubs!

“I love how the mama goes down the big slide and quickly runs to the smaller slide, only to bear hug the little one as they make it to the bottom,” Stockslager wrote on Facebook.

We’ve all heard the stories of mama bears and their loving nature, but we can forget that mama bears are teachers as well! Where else are little cubs going to learn except from their mom?

As you can see, the mama bear goes down the slide once and then expects her cubs to follow.

Leading by example, she takes one of the bigger slides near the back of the playset and slides down like a pro. Now, it’s her cub’s turn! The big slide is a bit too much for the little bear, so he decides he’s going to try his hand (paws?) at one of the smaller ones.

As he slides down, the mama bear jumps up in celebration knowing that her baby just learned a new skill – how to play on a playground!

When the crowd that gathered to watch the bears saw him slide, they all cheered! It was pretty cool to see such a wild moment happen in such a mundane place. For the kids and teachers, it wasn’t even that scary.

Living in the mountains, this sort of thing is common and the kids weren’t nervous at all.

“We’re in the mountains and bears are quite common on our campus,” Johnson said. “If someone spots a bear, we call a perimeter lockdown. That means that all students have to return to the building until it’s safe to resume outdoor activities.”

Living where bears live just means you have to adapt your life a bit! In fact, the kids have to go on their perimeter lockdown around three times a week. For most people, seeing bears in a once in a lifetime thing. For these kids, it’s daily!

“But this is the first time the bears have gone viral,” he said, with a laugh. “So that’s been exciting.”
