Aww!
Dad and parrot’s ‘uncaged’ performance of Stairway To Heaven is disconcertingly good
This duo just totally made my day. That parrot is giving Robert Plant a run for his money.🦜😂

A man who loves to play classic rock songs and a parrot who loves to sing is the kind of partnership that will surely go viral.

The pandemic has unlocked so many talents and hobbies that we never knew we liked. When you have no choice but to stay indoors, you start looking for something to entertain yourself and to keep you busy for a while.

Frank Maglio Jr. started to work from home last year because of the pandemic.

Maglio has diabetes which means that he is not allowed to go out and work from his office.

Like many of us, it was a huge change for Maglio. Good thing he loved playing the guitar. This helped him cope with the change and the emotional toll of being confined at home.

One night Maglio was strumming his guitar when Tico, his 18-year-old Amazon parrot, started singing.

Maglio and his wife were shocked.

We may know very little about these types of birds. While most of us know that they can mimic sounds, did you know that some can even sing the opera?

There have been many parrots that went viral for their unique and amazing talents. One would be Chiyo, also an Amazon parrot, who can sing “Queen of the Night.”

“These birds are known for being able to sing opera,” Maglio Jr. explained to Vulture. “He completely botches every single song we make. He does not vocalize the lyrics.”

Tico has been a part of the family for almost two decades, but this is the only time that Maglio discovered his parrot’s special talent.

After that, Maglio and his wife started taking videos of the unlikely duo performing.

The duo already created their own YouTube account, Tico & the Man, last April 2020. They have “collaborated” with songs from Guns N’ Roses’ Patience, Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles, Yellow by Coldplay, and their very first video, Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin.

The first video they uploaded was Tico singing along Stairway to Heaven in his cage.

They re-created the video with the “Uncaged” version and gained more than 1.6M views.

Tico’s vibrato is more than just impressive. He’s a natural at this. For a long time, Maglio and his wife, Gina, didn’t even know they have such a talented parrot with them.

“He completely botches every single song we make. He does not vocalize the lyrics,” said Maglio.

Tico and Maglio complement each other, and that’s how their fans see them too.

Currently, the duo has more than 130K subscribers on their YouTube channel, and they continue to entertain and amaze their audience with their music.

The adorable duo was featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

So, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them on more TV shows as guests and even world tours once the pandemic is over.

Although our singing parrot doesn’t exactly sing the lyrics of the song; his vocal prowess will surely impress anyone. He has his unique interpretation of each song, and you can see how the duo is enjoying the music that they make together.
