Cats have a reputation for being aloof, but that isn’t always true. Many cats are very affectionate, and they aren’t afraid to show the people they love just how much they adore them.

A cat named Panda is the perfect example of that.

Panda is one loving creature.

While cats are known to be fickle animals, Panda is surprisingly committed and loyal. She recently went viral on the Internet when she displayed the most adorable affection towards an unborn (yes you read that right) baby.

Facebook user Liel Ainmar Assayag documented her cat’s weird and interesting behavior on Facebook. The story is quite touching!

Panda showed affection towards Assayag’s son long before he was even born. For the nine months of the pregnancy process, Panda hugged and loved Assayag’s belly.

The cat seemed to not only love Assayag’s belly, but it almost feels like Panda is guarding it. When Baby Sean was born, Panda’s love continued.

She still won’t stop showing affection.

It’s so precious! It’s clear these two are going to have a wonderful friendship.

According to the ASPCA, with the right preparations, a baby and a cat can become best buddies.

If you’re expecting a baby and own a cat, the ASPCA suggests doing a few things to get the cat prepared for your new arrival:

“Place a used receiving blanket or piece of infant-wear in a quiet area where the cat can investigate it. Make sure that the crib and other baby sleeping-locations are off-limits to the cat. A newborn cannot turn over or even move her head at first, so a heat-seeking cat who chooses to cuddle up close to the baby’s face could make it difficult for the child to breathe. Close the door to the nursery when the baby is napping. If there is no door, either install a temporary screen door or place a crib tent over the crib to keep the cat out. These precautions also prevent the cat from urinating in the crib, something she may try if extremely stressed.”

It’s now been a few years since the photos of Panda and her baby brother went viral, and the pair have a wonderful relationship.

Panda loves spending time with her brother, whether they’re napping on the couch or playing together. It’s clear the bond they formed when Sean was in his mom’s belly is still strong.
