We often think dogs and cats can never be friends.

Do you remember how our parents would describe us as “dogs and cats” when we were fighting with any of our siblings? Plus, that nursery rhyme where the “dog chases the cat” in “The Farmer in the Dell”! All these gave us that kind of impression of these lovable pets.

However, we’ve seen many fur homes prove those assumptions wrong.

Many families have both cats and dogs in their homes. They may not always be the best of friends because occasionally, a riot is bound to happen. But overall, these two can live harmoniously together.

Just like Teddy and Albi.

Lana Boocock first had Teddy, the cat. Their home was as peaceful as ever (except for the occasional zoomies). So, when she thought of getting a dog, she was a bit apprehensive about whether the two would get along.

She went home one day with a little Albi in her hand.

Lana slowly put Albi down on the floor, curious about how Teddy would react to this new creature in his midst. Then, something amazing happened in just a few minutes!

Albi went straight up to Teddy and started sniffing him.

We bet he was also curious about Teddy at that time. He approached him as he tried to get to know his big brother. When they both felt like they were no threat to one another, they started playing and following each other around the house.

The two immediately fell in love with each other.

Their brotherhood is like no other. You can see how they care for each other with how they interact. Teddy started to snuggle next to Lana and Albi whenever they were in bed and even groomed him!

Lana could not believe what she had witnessed.

She never imagined that a cat would groom a puppy, especially a male cat. Male cats can be very territorial and aggressive, and Lana was glad Teddy wasn’t like that to Albi.

As days passed, the two grew a special bond.

The first couple of weeks were full of snuggling and grooming. Lana would often find both of them sharing one dog bed, cuddled up next to each other.

As Albi got bigger, the snuggles turned into play-fights.

Not once did anything serious happen between the two during their play-fights. They were all very friendly and filled with brotherly energy (and love, too). And during these times, it seemed like Albi thought he was also a cat!

At times, Albi’s plays tend to be a bit more intense.

He nibbled on Teddy’s ears and collar, but he never fought back. Instead, the loving cat brother would only make a little noise and purr a bit. He is simply the understanding and patient big brother that Albi needed.

Albi made up for those times, though.

Lana would often bring Albi to work, and when they got home, he would go straight to Teddy, give him kisses, and cuddle with him. They’re simply happy to see each other.

Indeed, they are the best buddies and brothers they both needed.
