Cats and dogs are most often portrayed as mortal enemies.

However, it is not uncommon to see a dog and a cat play along as though neither cares about the other’s differences.

True enough, they are both considered a man’s companion all throughout history.

And both are adorable.

Dogs were the first ones to have been domesticated and there’s evidence of dogs buried beside their owners at least 15,000 years ago.

Thus, they’re considered man’s best friend.

They are great at hunting and are used as guard dogs. Some are also used to herd sheep and other livestock.

Cats are a different story.

Cats domesticated themselves later on.

They’ve adopted the docile behaviors that men favored.

They were even revered in Ancient Egypt and mummified when they died.

In one video, 12-week-old Loki, a Border Collie, was caught playing with its housemate, a Burmese Cat named Henry.

Loki and Henry were fast friends.

Ever so playful, the puppy tried to bite the cat and then paused when the cat raised its paws.

This was all captured by their owner, Youtube user Galliant Wolf.

Loki tried to persuade Henry to come and play, but the cat had something else in mind.

The puppy even petted Henry.

But it was to no avail.

Loki continued on to invade the cat’s personal space, in a chair, while Henry just patted and tried to bite back, showing the puppy that it wasn’t interested in the idea.

Even when Loki whimpered and cried, the Border Collie pressed on to annoy his friend.

Henry knew Loki was just playing.

So he responded with soft taps of its paws on Loki’s head.

Their dog sibling wasn’t having it.

At one point, another dog, an older one, came into the screen but immediately backed away.

Maybe he knew what would happen if he messes around with Henry.

The Burmese cat gave a hiss to war off Loki the nuisance, but that did not bother the puppy as he carried on to play with the cat.

Loki circled the chair.

He wanted to find a better spot to annoy Henry.

The cat managed to bite the puppy’s cheek but that did not stop Loki.

The puppy continued to plea and whimpered just to make Henry play with him.

The video gained over 400k views and more than 300 comments.

One user commented, “that’s exactly what we have at home right now :) – a 2-year-old cat and a 3-month-old puppy… thanks for showing me that the interactions are the same everywhere :D. I think the biggest problem is that these pups don’t realize cats aren’t puppies, yet they want to play with them like that. nvm, hopefully, it will get better once they grow older (and therefore wiser, haha).” This comment sealed the deal that this is a common scenario in households with cats and puppies.

Another user commented, “That cat is all forbearance, patience, tolerance but also, confidence. The pup is just adorable cluelessness. That is a wonderful cat.”

It is almost certain that cats and dogs will always have this love-hate relationship. But in the end, they always have each other’s backs as time passes by.

See Loki do his level best to annoy Henry into playing with him in the video below!
