Dog dance shows are a unique type of competition. At these competitions, the agility and abilities of both the dogs and their human companions are tested. This results in some gorgeous dances that are a true treat to watch.

These competitions show both the incredible talents of some amazing human dancers and the skills of their furry companions.

It takes tons of practice to nail these moves, and the dog has to have complete trust in their human. The dog and their human seem to almost be reading each other’s thoughts during the dance.

Interested in trying this out with your own pup? The World Canine Freestyle Organization (WCFO) put out guidelines to follow for their competitions.

The guidelines state that you must first select the music you want to dance to. Then, create a routine and design steps for you and your dog that match the music. After that, you’ll need to decide on costumes for you and your dog.

Finally, review the rules and guidelines of the completion and make sure to follow them! Of course, if you’re just doing it for fun at home, you can skip that last step and make your own rules!
