We’ve all seen the Youtube channels from vloggers and beauty bloggers, making videos of themselves talking to their camera. Or the ASMR videos of relaxing sounds and satisfying whisper stories that tend to put us at ease. These videos are usually made with just a person, a mic, and a camera- so a fairly simple set up for one of the most popular styles of video. So simple in fact, a parrot could do it.

Meet everyone’s new favorite Youtuber, Archie. Based on his instagram @Archieeclectus and his Youtube channel, Archie is a very popular photogenic parrot who has a lot to say to his viewers.

His owner is the one that saw his star power and decided to make a video. She sat him next to a mic and for 5 minutes , she recorded everything the bird said and did. Archie talked into it like a pro, saying all the words and phrases he loves. He also showed off how talented he is for knowing such a wide variety of human words.

He knows his name. He says hi. He talks about showers. But Archie also asks ‘whats wrong?’ and ‘are you good?’ making the viewer feel like he actually cares about what they’re feeling. This is typical of other ASMR videos, since their goal is to put you at ease and reduce anxiety. But there are a few times Archie breaks his act and calls the viewers ‘baby!’.

Though he’s just a bird, if you listen without the video, he practically sounds human!

His soft sounds and clicks (and sometimes kisses) into the microphone are soothing and the rest of the setting is so quiet, it makes for a very peaceful video.

Like most pets, he does get distracted and occasionally try to munch on the microphone. He’s a very curious bird and just wants to be as involved in the video making process as his owner allows him to be.

Archie talks for about 5 minutes and then starts to get irritable. He pecks at the mic and his owner can be heard off camera trying to get him to stop without scolding him too loudly. Eventually she loses her patience and her hand makes an appearance and points an angry finger at Archie for not doing what he’s supposed to.
