We all have certain habits and ways we like to sleep. Some like a cold pillow, others NEED a fan going, and others, well, others MUST have two huskies in the bed with them if they are going to get any shut-eye. To each their own, right?

We can all relate to having a special sleeping condition that, when met, allows us to fall off into dreamland. For this family, that special condition is to have their two huskies sleep in the bed with them! This special arrangement has now been seen by people around the world after it went viral.

While it might feel a bit strange to peer into a couple’s night-time routine, it is definitely worth the watch! There is seldom a dull moment throughout the entire night as the four amigos sleep the night away.

Certain couples are VERY against having their dogs in the bed. These two humans obviously have no problem with it at all. To each their own, right? The two pups hop up onto the bed at around 11 pm and get their nightly head scratches. After that, it’s off to sleep!

Why do dogs like to sleep in a pile?

For humans, the idea of piling up with a half-dozen of your best friend and all laying on one another to sleep sounds like a nightmare. For dogs, it’s a dream come true! It all relates to how puppies bond and like to sleep. Puppy in Training explains:

“Dogs are pack animals and as such want to be near each other thus forming puppy piles. The puppy pile is a part of a dogs need to bond with each other. The puppy pile is to keep the pups warm and help conserve heat.”

As they get older, that behavior doesn’t seem to change!

Despite these two huskies obviously not being puppies anymore, they still seem to love snuggling up on the bed! Maybe it’s because huskies are bred for the cold weather, and they have a genetic drive to want extra snuggles to stay warm.

Through the night, the dogs move, jiggle, shake, and scratch. I don’t know how the humans do it! Almost every hour of so, one of the dogs decides to VIOLENTLY jump off the bed and sleep on the floor. Then, not too long after, they want to jump BACK on the bed that they just left!

Off and on and off and on!

Like a terrible roller-coaster, the night is a series of ups and downs. Somehow, the humans can sleep through the entire thing without any problems! The only time they stir is when the guy gets up around 4 am to go to the bathroom.

What have we learned?

Well, I’ve certainly learned that some humans are gifted with sleep more easily than others. Having two huskies in the bed isn’t something that most people would be able to do! For these two humans, power to them. Not everyone could do what they do!
