Adorable Corgi puppy tries to climb steps for first time
It might not seem like a great accomplishment, but Charlotte's adventure up the steps required a lot of determination!

Stairs are tough for babies – whether they be human or animal. And they can be dangerous as well.

In fact, some say you shouldn’t introduce your puppy to stairs until they’re somewhere between 3 and 6 months old. But it mostly depends on their size.

In the case of one tiny corgi, all that needed to be conquered were two small patio steps – barely even a ridge. But her attempts to make it up and inside are so adorable they’ve gone viral.

Born on April Fool’s Day 2015, Charlotte the Corgi lives with her humans in the Seattle area.

The pup now has her own social media empire, and in the last 5 years, her family has built her a Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram presence.

There are many videos of the pup online, but her stair climbing is by far the most popular.

Charlotte already has pretty short legs to begin with, so she’s starting out at a disadvantage when it comes to climbing those two patio steps.

In fact, the first step seems so insurmountable that she nearly gives up and lets her mom come pick her up.

Then again, puppies have such strong spurts of energy that taking another run at things is just as common as taking a nap right in the middle of trying to accomplish them.

It looks like Charlotte has had her nap because she’s ready to make this happen in order to get inside the house.

After one failed attempt, she considers her options carefully.

Even though the patio step is up to her nose, she manages to get her front paws up there again.

Now for the back end. That’s the real challenge.

But she does manage to hoist herself up there – go, Charlotte!

The only problem is that in order to get into the house, there’s one more step to conquer.

They say the first step in any journey is always the hardest, but it’s really that second one that bests Charlotte.

She wants in, but it’s not going to happen until she manages to replicate her success.

Getting two paws up is a good start, but as we saw the first time around, that’s no guarantee that the rest of her stubby little body will follow.

Just imagine trying to get up onto something as tall as you are!

She’s so darn close to getting in the door – but then disaster strikes.

It turns out that propelling her back end didn’t work out as well this time around, even though she got off to a strong start.

Boom! She’s down!

Hopefully, Charlotte never watches this video because she’s going to be pretty embarrassed to know that nearly half a million people have delighted in watching her bite the dust in the last year alone.

Don’t worry, she’s ok!

But the way she gets up there by launching her back end into the air is something you have to see in motion to truly appreciate.

Her mom is in the background encouraging her along the way and the puppy’s tiny little squeaks of frustration (and then victory) are sure to melt your heart.

Like most things in life – Charlotte’s success comes right after her most epic fails. But she dusts herself off and flies at the problem with abandon in order to conquer her goal.
