It is sad when one of our inseparable dog best friends goes missing even for a short while. Our whole family would feel constant fear and panic while wondering where the poor dog could have gone, or what they could be doing alone without them. This was true for this family whose service dog for their seven-year-old suddenly disappeared.

This worried family was heartbroken after their 1-year-old Bernadoodle went missing.

Sully, 7-year old Liam’s service dog and inseparable partner, disappeared after the family went to a groomer in Wesley Chapel, Florida. Sully has been with Liam since he was young as he was diagnosed with a pediatric brain tumor.

The dog would help comfort Liam during hospital visits, and he was always there to assist his friend. It was a terrible day for both Liam and his family, and they tried their hardest to find their lost dog.

Suddenly a group of people reached out to help the family in the search.

Liam’s family was worried about where the dog could have gone during the time, and they are aware of how dangerous the woods in Florida are. So they needed some help. The family shared Sully’s information to the public, and to their surprise, they got plenty of responses from the community.

These people willingly shared their time to help them find Sully.

Dozens of people worked with the family, and among them were professional trappers. They tried a lot of methods to hopefully draw out Sully; they even used urine for Sully to sniff. The urine method worked well for them and someone reported to the family that Sully returned to the spot where the urine was spread. However, as the person tried to grab him, the dog ran away at full speed, getting the search back to square one.

Finally, someone successfully caught Sully and returned him to his owners.

A certain driver happened to spot the dog as he was passing by the area. He stopped by and grabbed Sully. When the man returned Sully to his family, you could describe their reunion as something that was straight from a movie. Liam and the rest of the family were overjoyed seeing their beloved dog back in their arms.

The dog felt excited seeing his family once again; he was relieved after hours of being separated from them. As happy as the family was seeing Sully, they also expressed their disbelief that somebody was able to find him for them.

“This wonderful dog has pulled Liam out of his shell and turned him around completely,” said Laura Holland, Liam’s mom. “We can’t believe it.”

Liam’s parents took Sully to the vet so the doctors could do a check on him after his tiring journey. It seemed that he was suffering from severe dehydration and blistered paws from all the walking; however, Sully thankfully recovered quickly.

His owners also took him to the groomer for a cool bath and a clean haircut. Now that Sully is back, Liam can enjoy being with his best friend once again.
