For any pet owner out there, having your pet go missing has to be one of the worst things that could happen. So when one person’s cat went missing from their home in Thailand, they were worried that they’d never see her again.

But while her owner fretted, the cat was off on her own great adventure, after it turned out that she’d come across every cat’s dream: a fish shop. Three days later, much to her owner’s relief, the cat returned home – but attached to her was a hilarious little note explaining exactly where she’d been.

Once the cheeky cat had come across the fish stall, it seemed that she had decided to hang out there for a while. With the temptation of the fish being too much to walk away from, she sat for three days eyeing up the mackerels that were for sale on the stall.

Of course, the owner of the fish shop soon became used to seeing her most regular customer visiting her stall, and she decided that there was only one way to get this cat to go back to her original home – by giving her some of her favorite mackerel.

When the cat was fed and happy, the stall owner, who simply called herself Aunty May, wrote a note to attach around the cat’s neck for the owner to see. Maybe then they would be able to figure out why their cat had disappeared for three days straight, yet didn’t seem to be any skinnier looking than the day she left.

When the cat returned home, the owner was finally able to discover where she had been for the last three days – thanks to Aunty May’s note.

The note read: “Your cat kept eyeing mackerels at my stall, so I gave her three.” It was addressed, “Aunty May from alley no.3.”

Once the cat’s owner had got over the shock of losing their beloved pet for three days, they started to find the whole thing hilarious and took a picture of the cat alongside the note to share online. Within time, the post began to go viral, and it ended up being reposted onto community Facebook pages all over Thailand.

One of the pages that shared the story was called, ช้างเผือก, and their post created quite a stir with users far and wide.

Captioned, “3 days gone and came back with debts. Isn’t that beautiful?” the post features three hilarious pictures of the runaway cat, complete with Aunty May’s handwritten note.

People took their comments to share their love for the greedy kitty, with one person saying:

“Would love to follow his daily routine. LOL.”

Another added:

“Mom pays. I will go back soon. Aunty’s fish is very delicious.”

Although Aunty May never specifically asked for payment, many have suggested that her little note could have actually been a nicely written bill to the cat’s human family, so we’re pretty curious as to whether Aunty was paid in the end!
